Grown deep in the mountains of Ba Meng Village, near Meng Song, the Hani people cultivate tea trees spread over a diverse landscape. They’ve tended these trees for many generations, still processing the teas completely by hand and heating by wood fire. The landscape and their methods give distinctive character to their teas: a noticeable strength and smoothness of raw puer that makes it drinkable, fresh, and in this pressed form, great for aging.
