Houzan Shiboridashi Blue

A beautifully crafted houhin (handle-less teapot) with Sawa Houzan’s distinctive style. Houzan-san learned the art from his father, a master potter himself. His kiln is now back in his hometown in Shigaraki, where he crafts teaware along with his son, passing on for future generations.

This small, hand held kyusu is perfect for Japanese tea. Easy and comfortable to pour with one hand. The beautiful cracked glaze will change a develop over time as this piece ages. The grooved strainer at the spout makes for a simple, yet effective design. Great for high quality Japanese green tea.
