Red Oolong – Shan Lin Xi

A heavily oxidized oolong tea that bridges the gap between oolong and black tea!

As the name suggests, it creates a deep red cup, reminiscent of a high-grade Chinese black tea (or the famous Taiwanese Sun-moon Lake hong cha).  Notes of maple, dried plums, and dark raisins create a sweet full bouquet. But there’s more to it…the oolong side still hangs on with a bright finish (but not tannic or bitter) with notes of allspice and lush figs.

Definitely an interesting tea that will age well.
