High Mountain Sencha Spring
Umegashima, Shizuoka – Spring 2017
High Mountain Sencha
1st Flush Harvest
Umegashima Tea Garden
The classic Japanese leaf tea grown at high elevation in Shizuoka Prefecture. At, 1,000 meters, this tea garden is one of the highest altitude gardens in Japan. This year’s harvest is accented with aromas of toasted pine nuts, notes of cherry bark, and a finish that hints of sweetgrass. It all comes together to bring a walk in a pine grove forest on a dry sunny day to mind.
Particularly impressive harvest this Spring of 2017.
