Spring 2016 Sheng Puer Cha

Tea pressed into bamboo! Naka mountain is famous for its bamboo puer tea. The unique process involves heating bamboo over charcoal, stuffing it with mao cha (loose leaf puer) as the steam softens the leaf. The bamboo tubes are then roasted and dried over a period of days.

This 2016 harvest is a nice smooth bamboo puer, showing a golden infusion with notes pink rosebuds & sandlewood, freshly cracked butternut, and a slight sherry cask finish…a quite dynamic combination!

It’ll be fun to see this one age! If you enjoy the woody notes, keep stored in the bamboo…if you prefer the floral, subtle ones, store in a container/jar that protects, but not fully sealed.

  • When you order 50g, you will receive a fully sealed bamboo tube.  Approximate amount of tea weight in bamboo tube = 50g (+/- 10 g per bamboo tube)
  • Bamboo tube is not split, please see video on how to split!
